Official signing of the Salary Fixation Agreement between the Department of Personnel Management (DPM) on behalf of the government and the Public Employees Association (PEA).
Today, we proudly witnessed the official signing of the Salary Fixation Agreement between the Department of Personnel Management (DPM) on behalf of the government and the Public Employees Association (PEA).
At the heart of this agreement is a secured 3% salary increment for all public servants, fully integrated into the 2026–2028 National Budget by the Department of Treasury and DPM. This commitment ensures sustainable financial support, reflecting thoughtful planning and fiscal responsibility to benefit our financial members and the public servants at large.
The DPM Secretary expressed profound thanks to the PEA for its robust advocacy in advancing the agreement. She urged agency heads to foster and monitor the performance of public servants and highlighted the Government's pivotal role in enabling this outcome while commending the collaborative spirit that brought it to fruition.
The PEA President reciprocated with gratitude toward DPM, fellow PEA members, and the Government for their shared efforts. He passionately called on public servants to elevate their service delivery and encouraged all financial members to formally join PEA, leaving no room for "joyriders" in the union's vital work.
With outstanding matters from the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) set for continued constructive dialogue, this agreement stands as a testament to dedication, teamwork, and a brighter future for PNG's public service.
